ABOUT US

Hi I am Denise Celdran and I started EDGY VEGGY in 2008 when I realized that most vegetarians donโ€™t get enough protein, eat too much carbohydrates and sweets and end up gaining weight. I also had some friends who wanted to eat healthier by going vegetarian a few days a week but had families that were not supportive of the vegetarian lifestyle or cooks that were too hardwired in cooking everything with meat. We started off in the Legaspi sunday market and soon branched out to delivering when customers wanted to eat vegetarian food on a daily basis.

I am an agriculturist by profession and we have a natural farm in Nasugbu, Batangas where most of the lettuce, herbs and some of the regular table vegetables come from. Our other vegetables are sourced from Sibat Cooperative that operate natural farms in Tarlac. I am also a trainor of the Korean Natural Farming technique and this advocacy was part of my work with the Tuason Development Foundation for 3 years in Tagum City Davao where we developed programs on backyard farming, aquaponics and container gardening for food security. We also taught health and nutrition through a plant-based diet in public schools and on the barangay level.

Another one of my advocacies is practicing Homeopathy (http://homeopathy.ph) which is a 200 year old healing art from Germany using all natural non-toxic remedies. I also brought in Neurofeedback Therapy (http://mindworks.com.ph) which uses computerised bio-feedback to regulate brain waves and improve brain function. Homeopathy and Neurofeedback both contribute the all around wellness of an individual using non-invasive holistic modalities.

In 2009 I became a teacher of the Art of Living Philippines (http://www.artofliving.org.ph). Art of Living (AoL) is a humanitarian organization that teaches breathing and yoga techniques to manage the mind and emotions. Rooted in the concept of Sadhana (daily spiritual practice), Seva (service) and Satsang (keeping the company of the wise), AoL breathing techniques remove the stressed layers of our personality and reveal the true and higher Self.

It is this higher Self that we at Edgy Veggy hope will be revealed through eating high energy whole foods full of Prana (life force energy).

The underlying philosophy of EDGY VEGGY is LOVING KINDNESS. Be kind to the planet, be kind to animals and be kind to YOURSELF and OTHERS.

Peace,

Denise

  4. Hi Ms Denise,

I’m Eden, my business partner (from Singapore) is coming next week for 2 days. He is a vegetarian, and it has always been my worry where to bring him for a nice vegetarian food around Ortigas Pasig area where our office is located. I was looking at a working lunch during his visit. Do you have deliveries? Can you suggest what to serve for the 2-day lunch he will be at our office? Thanks.

  5. My daughter and I are interested in the 3-day Thrive detox program and would like to start Dec. 27. What time do you open in the morning so we can come by and pay for program?

    Thank you.

    Pat Samia
